This song is one of the reasons I am setting up my record player today.
I haven’t used my turntable in months. I need some high quality again.

Breathe Electric
Finally, some pop music you can get excited about.
NOTE: As Vans Warped Tour 2010 Presale comes up, I decided to review a few of my favorite bands on the list. Keep in mind that not all of these are going to be as popular as they deserve to be.
Because I am from the Lake County/Chicagoland area, I have seen Breathe Electric at least 3 times. Every single time has been a dance party. Grant Harris has a great ability to lead a crowd to excitement wether it’s indoors at a club, or outside on a local stage. Grant Harris writes and records the music for Breathe Electric, and also is lead vocals for the live performances (Kyle Fasel plays live bass, Aaron Eberly on live guitar).
So if you like Cobra Starship, Cash Cash, Breathe Carolina, The Secret Handshake, or any other group with attitude, this solo band will be sure to please.

The Ready Set Announcing New Song and Album.
Thanks to my perks as a promoter, i got a package recently with a whole bunch of flyers and goodies.
This flyer (sorry, couldn’t flip the photo in iphoto) announced a new single titled “Love Like Woe,” available march 30th, and a new album coming summer 2010 titled “I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming.” I personally love The Ready Set, and that is why I spend my free time to promote such a great band. You can download his current ep “Stays Four The Same,” on itunes or purchase it at your local hot topic. You can also catch The Ready Set on the Baboozle Road Show (which has a great lineup) starting may 21st. Believe me, this artist will be very big some day, and i would love to see you guys make it happen!
If this post gets at least 10 responses, i will post even more of the goodies i recieved in the mail today for promoting TRS.

Max Bemis - Possibly one of the greatest artists of our time.
His band Say Anything will be opening a tour soon for Angels and Airwaves. I hate Tom Delonge’s serious voice, but I will gladly pay 35 bucks to go see Say Anything again. I will just end up leaving after the opening act.
Yes, Max Bemis is that incredible.
He writes every album with a purpose in mind, and that is not to sell his soul to fame. He would rather try to send a message to his listeners, and also try to challenge who they really are inside (after listening to songs like Admit it!, and The Church Channel, you will know what I am talking about). He not only is a strong musician, he also is able to face his demons about his mental disorders and bring those feelings to life.
in an interview from absolutepunk.net, he had this to say about his bipolar disorder.
There’s a fine line between exploitation and the truth. I think we sometimes straddle that line but never cross it. My bipolar disorder is an important part of the story of this band and how we function, as well as who I am, and it deserves to be mentioned if people don’t know about it. I mean if I had a physical disability and was still able to do what I do, would one not write about it? Basically I’ve overcome something that would normally inhibit someone to the point where they can’t do what I do for a living. I had to cancel tours, almost screwed up the record, and now I grapple with it functionally. If you’re sick of hearing how crazy I am, don’t buy our next record. It has a lot to do with the story of me finding my way through it, because I wrote the last record before I knew anything about having bipolar disorder.
Now this quote was from an interview before the release of Say Anything’s second album. In my opinion, the second album is the most emotional and personal album because it was written right when Max got better from his disorder and was released from the mental institution. Don’t believe me? The following picture is him in the institution, and it saddens me everytime I see it.

He’s holding some kinda crazy asian rice crackers. I never liked those that much.
Anyway, The Latest and third album from Say Anything (self titled), was released this past November. It holds past emotion, but also has an updated poppy sound that will leave the lyrics stuck in your head for months (maybe even years). Go out and buy the album if you enjoy music with soul put into the vocals, instead of the autotuned garbage on the radio. You will not be dissapointed.
An Insult to the Dead,
-Connor.
ps, if you love max as much as I do, please reblog.

Isles And Glaciers
The Hearts Of Lonely People
This is part of my segment called album review friday. However, I could not wait a couple hours to post the first album review I ever do. Sue me.
Isles and Glaciers is a side project that is sturring up quite the buzz. It involves the brain-power of 7 big names of the music industry.
Craig Owens (Ex Chiodos), Jonny Craig (Emarosa), Vic Fuentes (Pierce The Veil), Mike Fuentes (Pierce The Veil), Matt Goddard (Chiodos), Brian Southall (The Recieving End of Sirens), and Nick Martin (Underminded).
Although some of those names I do not recognize, a good chunk of them are familiar and the sound on the album/EP shares this familiarity.
I was more a fan of Pierce The Veil out of all the listed bands before listening to this album, and i must say that both Craig Owens and Jonny Craig have now grown on me.
The tracks that stand out the most are Hills Like White Elephants, and Clush. However many of these songs could grow on a listener (example: the 7 minute long Cemetery Weather)
i give the album four outta five stars, just because of the fact that 2 of the tracks on this cd are interludes, which pissed me off because that left only 5 songs left for me to truly judge. I would like to see more. Also a tour would be nice, but probably not going to happen. oh well.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK OF THE ALBUM?
REBLOG YOUR OPINION!

Cute Is What We Aim For is back. Well… sort of.
If you haven’t heard the news yet, CIWWAF recently updated their myspace after a couple month long Hiatus. Except, the only picture there now is one of Shaant Hacikyan.
Now, if you look at the picture, Shaant looks like a real douche, and he is. But his great music makes up for his attitude problem.
Cute Is What We Aim For has always been a three piece band, but there has been EIGHT former members since their existence. Almost all former members quit the band because of Shaant’s inability to cooperate with other people. What many people don’t realize, is that Shaant writes almost ALL of the beautiful lyrics and music that is CIWWAF.
I always considered CIWWAF to be one of my favorite ONE MAN bands, because in reality it truly is. So it was no surprise to me when Shaant announced a new tour this summer.
Which by the way is with Down With Webster (A very fun canadian band) and two other bands that I really don’t give a shit about.
Long live Cute, because even though Shaant is a butthole on the outside, i’m sure that he is truly a nice guy on the inside. He makes his shows and music fun, and really that’s all anyone should care about anyway.
Teasing To Please,
Connor.

Yeah that’s Christofer (sp?) Drew.
Although I enjoy Nevershoutnever, I have to agree with my friends to the fact that he IS an oddball.
I witnessed him at Vans Warped Tour, and although he keeps flowers on his mic while singing, and calls his audience his “loves,” he is not gay.
In fact, Chris probably gets so much love from girls, that he is a bigger pussy magnet than, dare i say it, Alex Gaskarth.
YES I SAID IT. try to argue with me because i will win.
Here are my list of reasons.
1. Chris is a hippy. Hippies are sexy to women until the women find out that hippies smell like shit (most of the time).
2. Chris is compassionate and affectionate. If it’s one thing girls love, it’s attention, chocolate, acoustic guitar, and lyrics about relationships. Christofer has all fucking four.
3. Chris is cute. If we haven’t learned anything from N’SYNC, let me remind you that any artists can make shit music but still be respected in the industry because they are pretty boys/metro-sexuals.
Call me crazy, but I still enjoy Nevershoutnever (i swear i’m not gay). He may be weird, but so was Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears, and every other fucking pop artist that has made it big. So don’t hate.

Connor
